Who's going to take over Apple?

She is!

Okay.. so maybe it won't be for another 20 years but she's getting there. Like daddy, Katelyn is our little computer nerd. I know there are people out there that would insult me for giving my (almost) 2 y/o daughter an Ipad. There are people out there that don't believe a small child should be allowed to play with a computer. However, I believe these resources (in moderation) allow for development and growth. Katelyn is at the point now where she can add applications to her Ipad by herself. She turns it on, scrolls through the learning games, chooses the one she wants and then continues to play. Katelyn knows how to work a mouse, can tell you what any letter on the keyboard is, and unfortunately loves to show you how to turn the computer off (especially when you are in the middle of doing something). One of my favorite things is when she sits next to daddy with the wireless keyboard and pretends to "work" while he is working.

A friend of mine asked me last week when she should introduce these things to her daughter (also 2). Of course I always recommend starting children early but ultimately it is up to the parent and what they are comfortable with. I would love to hear your experiences and how you feel about giving computers to small children.
