To sanity?
I design for birthday parties on a regular basis. I've never quite run into this "block" before. Katelyn's birthday will be here in a couple of months so it is time to get on the ball. No problem, right? I sit down in front of the computer ready to design the perfect invitation, cupcake toppers, favor tags... the whole shabang! My fingers are busy doing... nothing. That's right, completely blank. Oh the pressure!
She's going to be two. Katelyn won't remember the favors or the invitation so why does it matter so much? Haha -- funny question. Do you have kids? Well then, you probably understand the need for perfection when it comes to their special days. I think this is a million times harder because I'm a designer. People expect to walk in and be "WOWed". At the same time, I don't want to let her down. Yes, I know it's silly but that's just part of my crazy type A personality.
So, back in front of the computer. Something will come to me eventually. I'm sure I will go through many more "drafts" but at some point that perfection will appear and I will be ready. Keep that wine coming!
