Look momma, I FIXED it!

Let me explain how we got here. It all started with my obsession of all things Pottery Barn. I do believe they intentionally fill my inbox every other hour with things they know I'm unable to resist. Almost feeling stalked by the almighty home furnishing store, I do my best to stay strong for the sake of my marriage. When the catalogs find their way to my mailbox, the highlighters come out and my ongoing wish list grows like a stubborn weed. At the top of my list sits the Bedford Project Table. I've wanted this desk for so long but the price is a little scary. So, when I came across Ana White's craft table build Instructions I knew I had to give it a try. Saving hundreds of dollars sounded good to B, so I convinced him to help me tackle this project.

This past weekend we went to Home Depot and purchased all the supplies. Since I'm picky, I wanted a really nice, light grain top. That type of wood was more expensive than the others, but we still managed to get out spending less than $350. That's a huge savings! B and I are really handy with the tools so we knew following this plan would be simple. What we didn't know is that our little girl picked up the "tool gene". I have to admit, watching Katelyn get so into helping us was very exciting!

Unfortunately, I don't have a table to show you yet but it is coming along nicely. We still have a ways to go -- the first two bookcases are built but we have to get the holes drilled for the shelves and do a lot of prep work before painting. I will post the finished product and a full review of the build soon!
